Hello sunshine in East Lothian and its welcomed by the singing of the birds and clucking of hens. After what feels like a long wet windy winter how is the your ground around your poultry netting gate? Churned up like a Clydesdale has ploughed through?? 1.  Check your power source? If mains - are all the connections still nice and tight no fraying? If battery - battery still charging? Are the energiser battery connections in place? If you are using a solar panel with a battery - is the solar panel in the correct

Here are some tips on what to check to make sure your netting is running at full capacity:

1.  Use your KV10 LED fence tester for this as not only does it let you know the fence has power but it tells you how much power
2.  Your netting is up and in place and has been for some time: (please make sure you turn the power off before you do theses checks)

• Is the battery nice and charged? Is it connected to the fence in the correct way (from the energiser to the fence red clip to netting connection

We always recommend the use of Leisure or Agri batteries with electric fencing. They are designed to be discharged and then re-charged whereas car batteries are not.
