Strip Grazing, for Health & All Year Round Grass
Horses
So the time of year has come for the ponies to be let loose on new grass but we all have the moment of dread, just how much will they eat and how big will the waist line end up?
Many of us think oh help... Laminitis... when we see the lush grass coming through and panic and suddenly remember the plan we had meant to execute over the winter period and buy a strip grazing kit to have ready for this exact moment and sadly it got forgotten until

Have you ever been to Stirlingshire? It is a beautiful part of Scotland - the 'Gate Way to The North'. If you haven't been there - you should visit. And guess what... I know a great farm stay which is beautifully done up and right in the middle of the farm so you can get involved if you want to.
I was lucky enough to be brought up at Old Leckie. The farm is now run by my brother, Fergus, and his wife Alison Younger (with their three girls).
Fergus and Alison have made a few changes over

Hello,
Now I am sure you are aware that all the recent rain has had a massive effect on so many people across the country, now we also have to look at the effect if has on your fencing.
So your netting has been up for a wee while now and should be working great, with the long wet winter months ongoing we suggest with all fencing you have a check of all the components and make sure you are as wet weather ready as possible.
Power and connections:
It does not matter if you are running off a battery

Well your fields have been in full use now for a few months and I am sure the animals have tested the fencing a few times, tried to munch it and also there has been vegetation growth.
Here are some things to check and look out for.
1. Check your power source? If mains - are all the connections still nice and tight no fraying? If battery - battery still charging? Are the energiser battery connections in place? If you are using a solar panel with a battery - is the solar panel in the correct position

May Energiser Focus - Hotline Super Merlin Energiser
One of Hotlines all time best performing energisers! This is the new version of the Super Merlin which was updated in 2013. It can operate from an internal 6v battery (not included), which can be used as a backup power source, or as the primary power supply for maximum portability. However it does perform at it's best when connected to a 12v leisure battery.
Stored/Output joules conversion has been greatly improved in this revamped model.
